I. Am. God.

Deuteronomy 31:8 – The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Tonight, I am going to see and love on my friend whom I wrote about yesterday at her home. God gave me this verse today – and I love it. He goes before us, and will never leave nor forsake us.

Thinking back, I have had friends and family who have passed away. But never someone that I have known was dying, and probably very soon. What do you do? What do you say?

I’m praying and contemplating this today. And God just keeps speaking “I am faithful. I am with her. I am there, in the midst of the tears and sadness. I. Am. God.”

A few days ago, I texted her husband. It was brief. One of the things I said, was “…there are no words…”.

Romans 8:26 says – In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

When we have no words… His Spirit so beautifully fills in the blanks and intercedes on our behalf. Yet another way, God has EVERYTHING under the sun completely covered.

Prayers of intercession are powerful. Please know that. We may never know how those prayers have made a difference this side of Heaven, but they have and will continue to.

By praying on behalf of others, we have the amazing privilege and honor to be a part of something so much bigger than us. The prayers of the righteous are effective and powerful. Never stop praying.

God is good. All the time.
